Secretary's Message Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement

Fr. Dr. Vivek Varghese

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings in the name of Holy Trinity!

It is with immense joy and gratitude that I write to you, dear students, who are the heartbeat of our MGOCSM movement. As we journey together through the challenges and opportunities of our times, I am reminded of the profound words of St. Paul to Timothy: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).

MGOCSM has always stood as a nurturing ground for generations of students, rooted deeply in the Orthodox faith and committed to Christ-centered living. In a world that often promotes self-centered ambition and fleeting pleasures, our mission is to cultivate in our students the eternal values of love, humility, service, discipline, and holiness.

Let us remember that we are not only students of academics, but also disciples of Christ. Our education must be anchored in spiritual wisdom, our talents should be used for the glory of God, and our actions must reflect the values of the Gospel. Through active participation in Church life, daily prayer, and sacramental living, we grow in Christ and become torchbearers of the Orthodox Christian tradition in our colleges, campuses, and communities.

As a humble servant of this historic movement, I urge each one of you to remain steadfast in your faith, bold in your witness, and compassionate in your service. Let MGOCSM be not just a name we associate with, but a calling we live out every day—with passion, integrity, and love.

May the intercessions of our patron saint, St. Gregorios of Parumala, and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit, continue to guide and strengthen each one of us.

With prayers,

Fr. Dr. Vivek Varghese
